Search For A Bill

Erin Carson, Lead Analyst Wednesday May 28th 2014

VoteTocracy makes it easy to find bills in Congress.  Searches are organized in pre-filtered categories, and also by branch.  Search may also be managed through our search bar located consistently shown on the top left of every page displayed.

  1. Find bills by Category and Topic.  Use the Categorized Bills filter under the “Bills” icon located in the left column navigation.  Click it and review bills organized into 30 different categories, such as Abortion or Gun Rights.

  2. Find bills by Chamber or Branch. Use the House Bills filter under the “Bills” icon located in the left column navigation.  Click it and review bills organized by high level stage within the House, or the Senate and also for those which have reached the President’s Desk.

  3. Find any Bill using our search function.  Enter a number, for example HR. 3370, into the search bar at the top of any page and that bill will display vertically under the search bar.  Click the bill information displayed below the search bar and follow it to the Bill Page for HR. 3370. Or enter the name.  Or do a key word search and potential matches will be displayed.
